PERSPEC✝IVA XX 2021 nr 1 (38)

Słowo wstępne
Od 5 czerwca 2021 r. w diecezji legnickiej trwa proces beatyfikacyjny sługi Bożego Henryka II Pobożnego. Rozpoczęcie procesu nastąpiło w Legnickim Polu – miejscu  szczególnym  –  w  dawnym  kościele  pw.  Świętej  Trójcy  i  Najświętszej  Maryi  Panny, obecnie Muzeum Bitwy Legnickiej, a więc w tradycyjnie uznawanym miejscu odnalezienia zwłok księcia Henryka.

Wszechmogący Boże, usilnie proszę, abyś do chwały ołtarzy wyniósł Henryka Pobożnego.

Ks. Bogusław Drożdż

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PRINCIPLE OF OBJECTIVITY IN A CRITICAL REFLECTION ON HISTORY.  HISTORICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL DISCURSE IN A PHILOSOPHICAL ASPECT
Abstract: Scientific cultivation of history should always be based on the search for truth in order to properly present historical events. Therefore, the truth requires the most objective possible approach to what is to be the subject and space of scientific research. Critical re-flection on history as a way to eliminate falsehoods and untruths is an indispensable tool in the study of the history of mankind recorded in historical sources. This pursuit of science towards objectivity and truth is, in a way, what constitutes it.

Keywords: methodology of history, objectification, re-enactment, historical truth, critical reflection on history, philosophy of history, historical sources.

ST. MAXIMILIAN MARIA KOLBE AS AN EXAMPLE FOR THE MODERN CLERGY
Abstract: Our world needs the shepherds. But is the fact that he will not express this desire aloud, it is fact that people search for the meaning of existence and happiness. Thanks to the  ministry  of  the  presbyter,  God’s  people  can  understand  that  it  is  possible  to  live  dif-ferently – it doesn’t mean worse. Jesus is the one who invites us to detach ourselves from what is purely earthly. It draws our attention to the meaning of sacrificing life in the form of service to other, lost members of the Church. The one who gives his life is the priest. The one who also needs constant conversion as well as discovering the priestly identity that has been bestowed on him. The model for contemporary priests, both diocesan and religious, is  Saint  Maximilian  Maria  Kolbe.  With  his  testimony  of  priestly  life,  he  gives  courage  to  stand for Christ, whom so many have already chosen in their lives. By prompting the rene-wal of priestly life, he reminds that one is a priest for life and takes responsibility also for others. Especially for those who have gone astray in faith.

Keywords: Maksymilian Kolbe, Franciscans, priestly identity, martyrdom, witness, offering.

LEGAL PROTECTION OF THE SECRECY OF CONFESSION IN THE LEGISLATION OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC AFTER 1990
Abstract: Czech legislation respects the secrecy of confession as the so-called the obliga-tion  of  silence  recognized  by  the  state,  but  does  not  respect  it  absolutely.  In  the  event  of  definite delinquent acts, the confessor has an obligation to prevent such acts if he learns that someone is preparing to commit such an act or is currently committing it. State law completely  ignores  the  obligation  of  keeping  secrecy  (secretum).  It  protects  the  right  to  privacy. It also applies to state-recognized keeping secret confidential. This means that the violation of the secrecy of confession is punished according to state regulations. The san-ction of imprisonment of up to three years is equal to the sanction for failing to do a well–defined criminal act. In this way, the confessor may be punished with the same sanction both for violating the secrecy of confession and for keeping it.

Keywords: secrecy of confession, confessor, secretum, legislation of the Czech Republic, criminal law.

AN ATTEMPT AT CRITICAL ASSESSMENT OF FRANCISZEK SAWICKI’S ACADEMIC AND ECCLESIASTICAL CAREER
Abstract:  The  article  presents  biographical  episodes  from  the  life  of  the  German-Polish  theologian Franciszek Sawicki. They concern both his missed appointments to university chairs  in  various  European  cities  and  the  well-known  blocking  of  his  Gdańsk  episcopal  nomination. The rejection of the proposals of outside Pelplin and the history of the would–be anointment clearly place the biography in question in the historical context, i.e. on the public  plane,  where  the  Polish-German  national  conflict  was  present  in  its  political  and  social dimension. The cultural-philosophical plane is important as well.

Keywords: Franciszek Sawicki, Pelplin, Gdańsk diocese, existentialism, Polish philosophy.

IRISH-GERMANY AND IRISH-FRENCH CONTACTS FROM 1919-1921 AS ASSESSED BY THE DAILY “ILLUSTRATED DAILY COURIER” (PART II)
Abstract: The widely read Krakow daily “The Illustrated Daily Courier”, sympathizing with the Irish fighting for independence in 1919-1921, seems to show understanding for them even when they seek allies not only in Americans, French, Belgians, or Jews, but even in hostile  to  Poland  Germans  and  the  Soviets.  Despite  the  fact  that  “The  Illustrated  Daily  Courier” displayed nationalist tendencies especially against hostile neighboring countries.

Keywords: “The Illustrated Daily Courier”, Ireland, Great Britain, United States, Germany, France, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, Jews, Russian Soviet Republic, the Catholic church.

VATICAN DIPLOMACY TOWARDS THE DEFEAT OF THE SECOND REPUBLIC OF POLAND AND POLISH GOVERNMENT IN EXILE (1939-1945)
Abstract: On March 2, 1939, Eugene Pacelli became Pope and took the name of Pius XII. The  first  years  of  his  pontificate  coincided  with  World  War  II.  During  the  war,  the  Pope  kept in touch with representatives of the Polish Government in Exile and with Polish clergy. During the talks conducted, he repeatedly expressed his regret over the fate of Poland. The purpose of this paper is to present, inter alia, the position of the Holy See on the political situation in Europe in 1937-1939, the issues related to the election of the Holy See repre-sentative to the Polish Government in Exile, as well as diplomatic activity of Casimir Papée.

Keywords: Pius XII, the Vatican, diplomacy, World War II.

PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF THE HUMAN SANCTITY
Abstract: The human being is naturally predisposed to live in interpersonal and intraper-sonal  relationships.  The  whole  psyche  of  the  human  person  facilitates  establishing  rela-tionships. The most essential relationship in a Christian’s life is bond with God. Through prayer, the human person builds a personal relationship with the Creator and Lord of life. This is the first and fundamental human relationship. In second place there is the relation-ship to another person and oneself. It must be equal, parallel and directly proportional. We love  our  relatives  as  we  love  ourselves,  then  the  mental  balance  and  the  correct  azimuth  of reference are maintained. The human being learns interpersonal relationships from an early age, grows in a specific constellation of people. The condition of proper relations with others is self-awareness, deep self-insight and self-acceptance.

Keywords: sanctity, psychology of sanctity, interpersonal relationships, intrapersonal rela-tionships, self-awareness, self-acceptance.

REV. ADAM ŁAŃCUCKI AS A CHAPLAIN OF THE BRZEŻANY HOME ARMY INSPECTORATE ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE EVENTS IN BUSZCZ
Abstract: The subject of this article is the description of the action conducted by the Home Army soldiers from the Inspectorate of Brzezany in the vilage of Buszcze. The actions ini-tiated by priest Adam Łańcucki led to save the precious image of God’s mother which was not only the testimony of faith for previous generations but also the fruit of centuries-old tradition and Polish Culture in these areas. Due to the cooperation of that time with the Polish Underground State. The heritage of so-called “Lost Eastern borderlands” continues until today and it is given over next generations.

Keywords: Home Army, priest Adam Łańcucki, Brzeżany, Buszcze.

THE ORIGINS OF THE “FRONDA” COMMUNITY
Abstract: In the article I’m showing “Fronda” – first, a famous TV program and magazine, now a Catholic news portal and a publishing house as a sociological and cultural pheno-menon. I present the intellectual views of its main authors, and also try to interpret them. I would like to show the beginnings of the “Fronda” and its later ideological evolution at the background of other popular culture phenomena. I am also interested in the impact of “Fronda” to the society and its comparison to other conservative and Catholic formations. Since “Fronda”, more than 20 years since its inception, is still referred to as “the avant-garde of  the  Polish  Catholic  intelligentsia”,  it  is  worth  looking  for  an  answer  about  the  role  of  “Fronda” in Polish contemporary culture.

Keywords: “Fronda” magazine, counterculture, young people riot, public discourse, alter-native forms of evangelization.

PRELIMINARY RESEARCH BEFORE THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM. THEOLOGICAL AND LEGAL ISSUES
Abstract: The legislator requires that when in doubt as to whether someone has been bap-tized or whether his baptism is valid, a careful examination should be carried out before the conditional administering of the sacrament of baptism. In pastoral practice such exa-mination  is  called  the  pre-baptism  preliminary  research.  It  has  its  justification  not  only  in  the  requirements  of  the  canon  law  but  above  all  in  theology.  Theological  teaching  of   a  sacramental  nature  causes  that  the  three  sacraments  once  received  cannot  be  repeated  due to the previously defined character. That is why, the provisions of the canon law, in case of doubts, demand a thorough examination as to the facts.

Keywords: baptism, pre-baptism preliminary research, conditional baptism, sacramental nature, baptismal registers.

Abstract: Liturgy is the source and summit of the life of the Church. Being an inevitable part  of  this  liturgy,  the  liturgy  music  serves  the  dual  purpose  of  God’s  glorification  and  man’s  sanctification.  It  is  the  duty  of  the  ministers  of  liturgical  music  to  ensure  that  this  purpose is achieved in any liturgical gathering. They cannot do this without understanding and diligent carrying out their specific roles in the liturgy. We shall look at the various fun-ctions of the individual ministers of liturgical music in Nigeria. Among the ministers men-tioned here are the faithful, clergy, cantor, psalmist, schola cantorum or choir and organist.

Keywords: liturgy of the Church, church music, liturgical music, ministers of liturgical music, formation, the Church in Nigeria, liturgical music in Nigeria.
